Youth Pastor

Jonas Harley

Pastor Jonas’ family moved to South Carolina when he was a young boy, his family was unsaved. After the move he became close friends with the neighbors across the street. They faithfully attended church and Awana. Soon he started going to Awana with them. After attending for several weeks he would come home and tell his parents what he had been learning at Awana. Shortly after that, a man from the church came and visited his family. Jonas’ dad answered the door with a Budweiser in one hand and a cigarette in the other! Later that night his dad came to know the Lord as his Saviour! Shortly after his dad’s salvation, God’s Holy Spirit started working on his family's need for salvation. He can remember lying face down on his bed as a 9 year old and thinking these exacted words,

“If I die right now I’m going to hell.
I need to get saved.”

He also remembered what Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” He went and told his dad that he wanted to get saved, so he met with his Pastor at that time and knelt at the alter and asked Jesus to forgive him of all his past, present, and future sins. When he stood up, he was new man and the burden of sin was lifted off and his destination was now turned from hell to heaven!

Since that day, he has dedicated his life to the Lord on a mission trip to Mexico and a year later he surrendered to ministry and attended Bob Jones University to study Bible. He graduated in May of 2006 then worked with National Hoops Ministries for 1 year and during that time God led him to his wife Charity. Three months after their wedding they moved to Raleigh, NC to be Youth Pastor at Catawba Springs.

Charity Harley

Charity was saved in April of 2002, at the age of 17. While she was doing her homework, she sat there thinking about all the wrong things she had done in the past year. She finally understood what Jesus Christ did for her on the cross. Charity had grown up hearing that God sent His only Son to die so that people could be redeemed and go to heaven. She hadn't understood till now that being saved also included being free from guilt and sin through the power of Jesus Christ. She realized that nothing you can do on your own can get you to heaven. Charity immediately prayed and asked Jesus into her heart and to forgive her of all her sin and to save her.
